Case Manager Pathway

Start your career as a Case Manager with Catholic Charities! In this paid, 3-month program, participants will be hired as Case Managers at Catholic Charities, while receiving training through PPL and Minneapolis College. This program is designed for individuals looking to enter the mental health field as a Case Manager, while gaining the needed training to further your skills and advance in the field.

About the Program

How does the program work?

Participants are Catholic Charities employees and earn full-time pay and benefits while they split their time between work and training/education. Participants spend 32 hours working and 8 hours learning each week. Following the three-month program, participants will remain full-time Catholic Charities employees, contingent on graduation from the program and satisfactory work performance. This program is ideal for jobseekers looking to build a career in the mental health field. 

 

What skills and certifications will I obtain?

During the program, you will receive 30 hours of training from Minneapolis College that fulfills the Minnesota State Statute Chapter 245I Mental Health Uniform Service Standards Act, Section 245I.05 Training Required, Subdivision. 4. This training is required of individuals providing direct contact services to a client, and will prepare you for your career in the mental health field. In addition to this training, PPL will provide additional professional development training covering topics including communication, digital literacy, motivational interviewing, and more.

Your experience includes full wrap-around support from PPL, including financial and career coaching and access to other resources you may need to be successful.

Qualifications for Participation

  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • Valid driver's license or willingness to obtain one
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legal to work in the U.S.
  • Proficient reading and digital literacy skills
